What a great show! Were any of you there? It was neat to see Geddy's Rick make an appearance after all these years.

B thats cool he was using the rick.. he said in the guitar world august that he prefers the sound of the jazz bass.. but to see his old rick again must of been sweet! Baryonyx 07-01-2007, 09:47 AM Perhaps one wonderous day his Wal will make another appearance...on record of course, they are far too precious to take on the road! I'm going to be seeing Rush live in October, I can't wait! bikeplate 07-02-2007, 12:04 PM HI I couldnt go because I had a gig. I did hear a soundcheck of Subdivisions when I went out to get my mail!! I live across the street from SPAC Rob RAM 07-03-2007, 11:59 AM What song(s) did the Rick make an appearance? As far as the Wals being too valuable, I'm sure that's not a concern of his, given that he toured with them on a few different tours. Besides, what's the point in having a nice bass if you're not going to use it? KPJ 07-03-2007, 12:08 PM What song(s) did the Rick make an appearance? Besides, what's the point in having a nice bass if you're not going to use it? He uses it on "A Passage to Bangkok". I didn't think it compared favorably to the Jazz Basses. They were much more present in the mix. ctbass 07-03-2007, 12:15 PM I grew up at SPAC, lived 20 miles to the west. Have tickets for the Red Rocks show. Oh the memories of Saratoga inthe summer time. Give my regards to upstate! Rush Fan 07-04-2007, 12:41 AM http://www.rushisaband.com/tourgallery/detail.php?id=322&i=6 Here's an image from an earlier show on the tour. Over the next few weeks I'll be seeing them in San Diego (inside the first 15 rows) and picking up my new Geddy Lee Jazz bass. :hyper: :bassist: Thunder_Fingers 07-04-2007, 01:33 AM Cant wait the.. 3 months it is? until they gonna play in norway! Im gonna be right there pretty far forward (and no way ill be sitting..its a rock concert, get thos chairs of the floor!) gratulations Rush Fan, they are some GREAT basses, i realy miss mine, and will probaly get a new one with in a year or so.. Baryonyx 07-04-2007, 12:31 PM As far as the Wals being too valuable, I'm sure that's not a concern of his, given that he toured with them on a few different tours. Besides, what's the point in having a nice bass if you're not going to use it? Yes, but when he used them (1986-1991 on record, and as far as 1993 live) they were still in production and easy to get hold of. Now, if they got lost or damaged or worn out, he'd most likely never be able to get them replaced. Tony G 07-04-2007, 01:11 PM I was there, but I didn't see this thread untill just now. I only live a few minutes away from Saratoga, and wouldn't miss seeing Rush for anything. It was a great show, but where I was sitting in the upper deck, it was pretty boomy and I couldn't hear a lot of detail. They had the drums mic'd so loud, that was practically all I heard the entire show. None the less, it was a lot of fun. |
