I owe a lot to Marcus Miller. In 2001 I hadn't played bass for 7 years and just happened to come across a clip of him playing a solo on the Mile Davis Story on TV. I thought "I like the sound of that" and within two weeks was playing in a jazz band. Now playing double bass and never looked back.:D

Where can we get a copy?A. You can get it from here (http://www.amazon.com/Free-Marcus-Miller/dp/B000QXD3CS/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/105-9038630-9732401?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1183914852&sr=1-2) if you have $33.49 to spend for an import. Ok, so it looks like Marcus has made another CD and included cover songs that he's done for the most part live in touring recently. Question is, is this CD live? Why isn't there any word of this on his website????????

Why isn't there any word of this on his website???????? :confused:No this is not a live cd. And yeah, there are a few covers. 2 not far from the originals and 1 way over the top and unheard of before (sorta like his version of Teen Town). Marcus always pulls one outta his hat! Many may not dig what they hear but he's probably as well rounded a musician you'll find! Can do it all......on multiple instruments to boot. His talent can not be denied! Ever! I don't know why this one is not on his website. I do know this is an import and the demand for jazz is way higher there than here in the US.

+1 about this album

there's a fantastic slap version of a tower of power song "what is hip"
on the original track , the bass line is hard to play but marcus miller's version is mind blowing!!

Keb Mo is cool on Milky way. Who is playing the acoustic guitar/sitar sounding solo on the first track?

I was in France last week and got a copy while I was in a record shop. I'm glad I did. I thought that it was available here in the states and questioned if I should just wait until I get back home. Looks like it is not here.

It's a kicking album. A little different than his most recent stuff and is a kind of return to some of his older works.

I listened to this in Virgin at lunchtime, first time I'd heard Marcus Miller, although I have admired his cool bass before!
Sounded good from the clips I heard, nice n' sleazy! I might go back and buy it...

IMO this album is way better than Silver Rain. Pluck is one of the fattest grooves I've heard. Awesome.:bassist:
