Except Steve falls into the "not a dick" category. :smug: Don't get me wrong, I love FZ's music, but I doubt any informed individual would deny that he needed to work on his interpersonal skills. As for Dweezil, he's hardly skilled musically on that level (of his father, Vai, Keneally, etc.) to demand (and get) such high-intensity auditions/rehearsals/shows. :rollno: I've known and have been friends with Bryan for years, and am ecstatic beyond words to see him touring at a level he can clearly handle as a bassist (they don't hand out Magna Cum Laude degrees from Berklee to everyone). Plus, the fact that it's for Steve Vai, a musician that both the fiancée and I have been fans of for years, and the day after he got the gig I got a message on my answering machine from Beller wanted to know what show was closest a drive for us so he could put us on the Guest List. Ian Perge 07-03-2007, 05:39 PM Steve's comments about the auditioning of the new band (http://www.vai.com/AllAboutSteve/postcard_070529.html) and the change from "The Breed" (http://www.vai.com/News/thebreed.html) and some of the false rumors that he and Billy were on "the outs". Long story short, Steve needed to change out the majority of the band to fit the concept of his new release and tour (an orchestral one), the fact that Billy's currently got a full-time gig with Tony MacAlpine's newest project, and IMO the bassist for this tour needed a bit less "Rock" than Sheehan brings and a bit more "complexity". santucci218 07-03-2007, 06:00 PM frank zappa was one of the best composers of all time. his son is a better guitarist for sure, but no as good a composer. as for my thought on steve vai...a lot of his music is really boring to me. i dont like him much.
