James, maybe try asking on www.rockabillybass.com

I use a K&K pre-amp with a Revolution Solo II and a homemade "clicky" pickup for the neck. I imagine the K&K rb pick up would be just fine for rockabilly - that's what it's made for.

My amp is a GK800RB into Avatar 210's and 212's. I might drop the 212's or the 210's 'cause this setup is perhaps too loud.

From what I read, alot of people seem to like the Ashdown Mag 300.

Remarkably similar to mine.

I have the K&K RAB setup on one bass, and the K&K RAB pre w/ Rev Solo2 and homemade clicky on the other bass.

800RB, run full range both power amps, 100watts to a 1x10 marshall cab w/ a 300 watt JBL crossed at 400hz up, and 300 watts to a 4 Ohm avatar 2x12 ran full range. (but without the leather hat, that's way too "village people" for me :D )

The "high" amp volume knob is almost like another "clicky" control.
