Mike--I actually do have a question. I've checked the Warwick site and other Warwick players and repair centers on this, and I need one more educated opinion. I have a Corvette Std-5 and recently changed to TI Jazz Flats. The B-string does not quite sit down in the saddle, leaving a very small space below for light to shine through. That means that the string is not sitting completely on the bottom as it should be for best tone. Warwick says that the saddle can be gently filed to widen the saddle. I've found a local repairman who has done this kind of thing, but, nevertheless, the whole idea scares me. If the saddle is widened to much, the screws on each side that raise or lower the saddle could be ruined. I love the TIs and want to keep using them. What would you do if this were your bass? And if I go ahead with this, are saddles easy to get? Where? Thanks for your help.

If this were my bass, I'd have no problem with (a tech or I)trying to widen the slots... it's a pretty easy operation and worst case scenario, a replacement Warwick saddle will NOT break the bank.

Thanks, Ed! That's exactly what I'll do--toward the end of next week, because my wife and I are out of town until Wednesday. I assume, by the way, that this change does not preclude going back to the Warwick Black Labels or other strings, if I decide to do that. Anyway, you've helped a great deal, and I truly appreciate it.

I had my Corvette B-string saddle widened today, and it turned out perfectly. It's amazing the improvement in the sound of the string now that it sits all the way down in the saddle. Thanks, Ed! I really appreciate your advice.

Very cool you started a thread for us Warwick lovers... Thanks guys! Have you seen the new just-a-nut III that is supposedly out and does it seem to be much different than the II? :-)

I have not seen the new Just a Nut III yet. Supposedly built with better material to counter the dreaded "where in the hell did that side tab go?" feeling. Those with a II will understand that line...
I will definately post with an update once I get my grubby little paws on one.

I've been in love with Warwick since I first played one waaaaay back in '96; the guy had a 5-string Corvette that was strung with a couple guitar strings. Really weird feel, but he nailed that Patitucci sound with it.

A year later, my Ibby Roadstar died, so I traded it in and ended up buying a used Corvette 5er with EMGs installed. I'm surprised, given how many different gigs, climates and places I've taken it to, that it still looks fairly decent.

Now I have a second 'Wick coming, as a backup to the first one.

I have a Streamer Stage II and love it. That is all.

I'm curious on if I can a Warwick gold bridge (5-string) and set of Warwick tuners, also in gold? The ones I got on my new/old 'wick have lost a lot of the plating.
