I won this bass and really dont need it. I really need the cash more. It really is brand new as is the hardshell case and a plain black strap. (the straps not worth much). It is a Schecter Diamond Series Gryphon 4 in Black Cherry. I found out that this is a very new model just coming out, so there isnt much advertising on it. It will sell at MF and MC stores for $499 new, the case is a standard hardcase, black, that sells for $99. It has a 6 bolt maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, active circuitry, 2 "Schecter" humbuckers that are actually made by Seymour-Duncan. I spent a little time adjusting the action and intonation. It has very good tone, can produce rich punchy lows, and crisp highs, or be very smooth, depending on your taste and adjustments. The pickups are very strong, similar to EMGs. It is a beautiful bass and has no blemishes, scratches, dings, nothing. I even just put a new Duracell battery in it. If you were to buy it and the case at MF or MC, you would spend $598. Price dropped from $375 to $325 shipped in the CONUS. PayPal is preferred. More pics available by request. SOLD

Can you compare the neck to anything else out there, or barring that just describe it roughly? Is it chunky, thin, wide, narrow, or anything else? How's the weight? Looks like a good deal on a pretty cool bass.

The neck is 1.5" at the nut. Smooth unlaquered neck feels similiar to a Jazz neck to me. Fairly fast feel. Overall weight feels slightly lighter than average. Pickups remind me of the EMG's on a Studio, except can have a bit more brightness on the top end, if you EQ it that way to personal taste. I think it would be a good bass for a working musician or a part-time hobbiest. Very pretty, and not a blemish anywhere. I did check the truss rod, and it works perfectly. Neck is true and can be adjusted for taste. I set it just a tad lower than stock, and the intonation is good. Schecters are known for being setup well before shipping.

Just played a few songs on this bass. If you pan to the front pickup, it has a pretty good thump, kinda like a p-bass, which I like. The back pup is what you would expect. Quite a bit smoother and more jazzy. Both on has bigger balls than most I've played. I think this bass would be excellent for a player with small hands or short fingers. Of course I have played a 5-er for years so most all 4's are feeling small to me.

Do you mind posting pics of the front of the headstock, a more cloesup detail of the board and lastly, do you know what the main body wood is? Thanks.
