Does anybody here use anything to make their fingers slick?
When I first start playing, my fingers are dry. I can play well enough, but I find that when my fingers get sweaty I play much better. I'd like to be able to always play like that.
What could I use to lube my fingers? I use rounds so I dont want anything that will build up gunk inbetween the winds. This is for my plucking hand BTW.

No, I don't use anything like that and avoid sweat as much as possible since it kills the strings and feels awkward....

I find when my hands are dry i play much better, this and when i have loosened up after about 15 minutes or so :) I don't think you'll have much luck getting something that won't gunk up your strings.

Nose grease, ear wax, or just grow out your hair and dont wash it. Then before the gig just keep running your hands thru it :hiding:

I find rubbing it down with alcohol before playing helps your fingers roll and slide when playing.

I've seen some bands lubricating their strings before more technical numbers.

i use "dr. stringfellows string cleaner and lubricant". i like it because it allows my fingers to move a little faster while at least HELPING keep the windings in my strings clean. it runs about 6 bucks a bottle.
