It's pretty straight forward, Saw the bass on ebay and now thinking about buying it. I think I could trust a guy who makes basses buts his heart into his work no matter where he is selling it. Do I really have to pay thousands to insure that its a quality bass or can this be an alternative?
Thanks guys!

You don't have to pay thousands of dollars to ensure quality, go look at any music store or Guitarded Center(not really a music store). You can get some great instruments for $1000 or less, and have a good quality instrument with the piece of mind of knowing where it comes from.
This guy on Ebay has changed his handle on there so many times it would make your head spin. There have been numerous complaints lodged here and with ebay about the lack of quality of these instruments. Mind you, there have been a few good things said, but many more bad reviews. It's a crapshoot at best.
I wish you luck

It says seller excepts returns, but I agree with the poster above me. For that same price you can get an Ibanez SR506 and I know those are sweet.

I think if his heart was really in it he would come up with his own designs and quit copying others.....:rollno:

Ken Smith has been a victim of this guys work, and has posted many times about the Brazillian knockoffs, along with others.

After a very short period of time I gained some common sense and decided it would be too risky for my first 6 string. Thanks for you comments.
I was thinking about the sr506 prior to viewing this auction. A used SR506 would be cheaper too!

I went and played a lot of budget 6 string basses and the Ibanez's prevail. The ibanez is also made of mahogany which is really soft so be weary of the used basses they might have lots of dings.

I live in Brazil and I have repaired many basses from this builder. They are really inexpensives and the woods are good look, but in all the basses the wood are not completely dry and I found many ridiculous errors in construction and assembly.
Warped necks, terrible fretwork, bad nut setup, non-working electronics and "cracked" fingerboards are some problems that I faced.
In addiction, the builder have no respect with his customers. At one big brazilian music/instruments forum, he confirmed all the problems that I found in a client bass. His justificative was: "I´he many orders right now, and don´t had time to make the final adjustments on this bass".
In Brazil, nobody wants these basses anymore. And now they are trying to decept decent people overseas.
Good luck, anyway.

Hhhmmm, I personally think they're terrible, but to each their own.
That said, avoid this guy like the plague.

hear is the response I got from the luthier...
"Hello, I use aluminium nuts because is easy to work, easy to polishing and the sound is good. You can see my ebay description again, I added more frontal photos and added videos of the real sound of this bass. Sorry for the very bad quality of the records and sounds, I am a NOT a professional bass player but you will have a ideia of the tone of this bass with these videos."
I just got a full time gig with a band :) but I retract my statement about any guy who makes basses must put his heat into it. This guy doesn't even play bass! No business from me thats for sure.
