There is a thread here (http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=349101) on the BG side, I am wondering if any of you have used this new amp successfully.
It seems like it was thought with DB in mind as it has a high impedance piezo input (http://www.roland.com/products/en/D-BASS_210/specs.html) and Roland's picture (http://www.roland.com/products/en/D-BASS_210/index.html) show it with both BG and DB.
I am still looking for a simple amp that can do both DB (straight ahead) and BG (old skool), could it be the one?
Thanks!

in the bg universe, i had a roland db for a number of years ... crazy loud for it's size and weight, and was capable of dialing in a quite fabulous "jack bruce tone" reasonably easily ... gobs of low end.
downside: not terribly articulate. plus, i had a some serious reliability issues that eventually drove me away from it (can you say amp dying slowly?)
if you were a bg guy looking for a big sounding small amp, i'd say buy it, but for urb? no way.
speaking of such, a year or so ago there seemed to be a trend of jazz urb players working through hartke 4x10 rigs (like curtis lundy) ... what was that about?

Interesting comment on the reliability thing... I was wondering about that... all this fancy electronic (COSM) and the manual warning you not to obstruct the air "intakes" (or is it outtakes :smug: ).
Anyways, yeah I am playing mainly DB right now, in a small swing trio (Drums, Piano, Bass) and my AI Focus/Epifani UL-112 does a great job.
For BG, it's at home with headphones! ;)

I PM'd this a couple days ago but some guys don't notice their PM's and maybe you're out of pocket but thought I'd try a different approach. You can PM, email, or post here, doesn't matter.

Read your response to the D-Bass 210 inquiry in the DB forum and was wondering what model you had and what reliability issues?
Although related apparently the DB and D-bass amps are different units rather than repackaged although I assume there's probably some components shared.
I did a side by side of a 210 and LMII and preferred the D-Bass as I ran them - for BG not URB. Both had good tone but the Roland had more definition, warmth, and a lot more variety in tone. Kept it and took the MB back.
