Thanks Mike for getting the ball rolling, and also to the talkbass powers that be for giving us our own little corner of the TB universe.
I've enjoyed Mike's posts in the past and am happy to say that we've recently become neighbors of sorts. My wife and I have finally made good on our threats to escape upstate NY winters (and decaying economy) and have relocated to east Tennessee. Have been spending the last couple of weeks checking out the local pickin' sessions and fishing holes. The live music scene here blows me away - what a treat to be able to see my favorite bands at a venue just down the road rather than hoping to catch them at a festival every few years.
Thought of you a couple of weeks ago when we made a trip to Grandfather Mountain - did you guys take your band name from that fancy gated community across the road?:p
Hope to hear your band in the near future or maybe I can make a trip over the mountain sometime and we can compare American Standards.
Sure am enjoying east Tennessee!
