VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Latest three basses from Watson Guitars
Watson Guitars 09-04-2007, 11:27 PM Here are three recent single cut basses I just completed. The two fretted ones have Audere 4-band EQ with split dual coild Nordstrand pickups. The fretless has overwound Nordstrand Big Single pickups with Glockenklang 3-band EQ

Luke Sheridan 09-05-2007, 03:44 AM Very nice. I like your headstock shape.
pilotjones 09-05-2007, 09:48 AM Very nice. How do you like the 4-band Audere?
Yellow 09-05-2007, 10:19 AM beautifull, I particularly like fretted with large inlays.
and single cut is always my favourite shape.
Watson Guitars 09-05-2007, 01:54 PM The Audere 4-band is very good. Prior to install I was impressed by the quality of the actual components - lots of tonal adjustment on the 4-band. Each control has its own distinct band and add and subtracts smoothly and effectively. The z-mode switch is a great feature too. You get three distinct sounds out of your pickups using that, PLUS, its configurable by the user so you can monkey around with it to get the three Z-mode settings that sound best to you. Easy to install as the whole package comes pre-wired to the configuration you order.
spade2you 09-05-2007, 08:59 PM Those look exceptional!!!
Suburban 09-06-2007, 06:38 AM Very nice. I like your headstock shape.
Yeah, that's a cute take!:)
But such a lot of knobs and switches!!! I'll need two days to switch tone between songs:o
FunkyFlashFive 09-06-2007, 12:29 PM do you mind if i steal your headstock? it looks sweet!
Watson Guitars 09-07-2007, 12:25 AM FunkyFlash - you can steal the headstock as long as you don't build more guitars than me!
PhatBasstard 09-07-2007, 03:51 AM Since my last name is Watson, do I get the "family" discount? :D
Watson Guitars 09-07-2007, 07:05 PM Hey Phat - if that is the case, you of all people should be playing one of our basses!!
Those are beautiful, now put 3 or 4 more strings on there and I'm in!
AN0INTD 09-07-2007, 07:23 PM By the way, I've been looking at your basses for about a year on Leonard's site, and I have to say that I love what you are building currently. I can't really put my finger on it, but your basses look much nicer now. Sexy even :D
very nice!
I really like them!
PhatBasstard 09-07-2007, 09:33 PM Hey Phat - if that is the case, you of all people should be playing one of our basses!!
It is the case.
BTW, I didn't see a sixer on your site. Only 5s and a 7. Do your 6s keep the nice, wide string spacing of the 5s or do they get ("girly man" :D ) narrow like the 7?
Watson Guitars 09-09-2007, 02:08 PM Pretty much everything I build has 19mm spacing at the bridge unless a customer specifies otherwise. I sold a 6-stringer earlier this year so I don't currently have one. I'm building 4 more instruments for the 2008 NAMM show - I think one of those will be a "manly" 6-string bass.
Hey Phat - how do you do that thing with your eyes???
full_bleed 09-09-2007, 03:19 PM very nice
scarekrow 09-09-2007, 08:11 PM Hey Watson, That fretless 5er is SWEET! I'd love to hear that one. PM me with detail$, please.
PhatBasstard 09-10-2007, 01:49 AM Hey Phat - how do you do that thing with your eyes???
That's actually my (soon to be) 10 year old son.
He was about 4 or 5 when that was taken. He's quite the comedian.
His aunt thought I photoshopped that. She couldn't believe anyone could really make that face.
gkbass13 09-10-2007, 03:49 AM i love the stuff ive been seeing from you lately...on the LAG website and now on here. could you go a little more in depth regarding the nordstrand cual coil/audere 4 band combination. thanks and keep it up!
