I called TPB today and spoke to a gentleman named Laurence. I kind of knew what I wanted when I called but I guess I needed someone to tell me that I'm making the right choice. That's not what I got at all. Laurence started out by asking what kind of music I played, what kind of rig I used and went from there. He took me through all the different basses that might suit my needs, spoke very intelligently on each bass we discussed and what impressed me the most was that if he didn't know an answer he'd go find out rather than making something up. We spoke for 40 minutes which included him plugging in the bass I was after and turning every knob on it so I could hear how it sounded.

Needless to say I'm impressed as I could possibly be. I will be buying my perfect bass from them and most likely, when I need a new 'perfect bass' it'll come from them too. Highly reccomended is putting it mildly. Keep it up guys. I'll post pics when the bass arrives.

Great customer service seems to be the standard when dealing with TPB.

Lots of new internet retailers for bass in the past few years, none that match the level of TPB though. Definately my first choice for gear.

Spector USA Bolt on. Alot like the one Tony sold for a steal a while back. I really wanted a USA with the all maple body and the red would have matched my Euro quite nicely.

This one has Dual EMG TW's and an OBP-3 preamp. Mahogany body and maple top. TPB was great to deal with as well.
