VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Hipshot Rulez!
Dirk Diggler 09-06-2007, 10:10 PM Well I just have to spout off as to what a cool company they are. I dropped by to pickup my lowly $321 order and got treated like a huge company.
I got the full tour and it was amazing, Rick guys you need to check out the new Rick bridge, wow heavy metal, years ago I had a 76 Rick and replaced the original bridge with a badass2 and I had thought that was an upgrade, but their new one is a quantum leap.
Also saw a bunch of Ghost Piezo Bridges, it appears that they are using them and they look great.
Jason took me on the tour and he couldn't have been a better host and tour guide, very knowledgeable and a very nice guy.
I met Dave and had a nice discussion and tried to convince them they need to get into the headless single tuner market. He said they have been thinking about it.
If I were to tell you all the brand name makers that Hipshot makes, you would be astonished, I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it with my own eyes. It was like a parade of the bass maker greats as I went by each of the stations.
To end this up I'm a small builder, yet I felt like I was as big as any of the famous guys. They treated me great and I can't recommend them more highly, the owner of the company took time out of his very busy day to chat. I will continue to suggest to all my clients to use Hipshot.
And in a last note I told them I'm still waiting for a 6 string trem, it may be a possibility in the future.
If anyone wants more in-depth descriptions I'd be happy to expand with more details.
Dirk
meev992 09-06-2007, 10:17 PM most definitely, hipshot is the ABSOLUTE BEST, hands down. Nothing is better than having good business practice and quality products. Heard them by word of mouth, and I recommends them to all my friends.
FBB Custom 09-06-2007, 10:23 PM Add my name to the love fest for Hipshot. They've treated me right since day 1, they have never raised my blood pressure so much as 1mm which is very unusual in this business.

as if we needed one more headache:rolleyes:
hooray to hipshot!
erikbojerik 09-07-2007, 05:51 AM Word.
Do tell, where's the factory located?
wilser 09-07-2007, 07:01 AM Erik, they're in upstate NY, shouldn't be too bad getting there.
me *hearts* hipshot, too.
Son of Magni 09-07-2007, 07:06 AM Your tour better not have delayed my order ;)
Sounds like fun though.
Dirk Diggler 09-07-2007, 09:03 AM Yes they are in a tiny town called Interlaken, NY. Between Geneva and Ithaca. If you didn't know what and where you were looking for you would drive right by it. :)
If I created any delays it would be max and hour or so SOM. LOL
It was a blast to see all the parts in egg cartons to protect them and keep them separate. I wish I could say I saw your order, so many names I recognized though. If you get anywhere near there drop in and visit, they really did make me feel welcome.

Yellow 09-07-2007, 09:47 AM One more for Hipshot. :D
meev992 09-07-2007, 11:28 AM I was saving my pennies for some new pickups, but now I'm just GASsing to get some new hipshot tuners :crying:
I spent all of last night, staring at HB1 diagram :D
These guys are a class act, and deserve your business
and support.
Dirk Diggler 09-09-2007, 04:32 PM I guess I am a little surprised nobody asked what famous brands are actually made at Hipshot, but hey maybe it's just me that I found it very interesting.
I didn't just want to start listing who's bridges I saw being made there, but I guess they never said I can't tell anyone, never signed a non-disclosure or anything. :)
But they were so nice, I just didn't want to step on anyones toes. Now that I think about it, I'm sure it doesn't matter at all to Hipshot, but the builders might be the ones to not want that info spread.

anyone and everyone with good taste, uses hipshot
DONE
now let's call it a day :D
I love this appreciation thread, I think hipshot should sponsor a thread on here someplace, so they could know how much we love them. Although, they do have their own forums now.
but, $$$, I still want to save my pennies so I can get everything I want, all in one shot...
heheh, no pun intended.
The only thing that I really want from hipshot though, is different styles of T-Shirts and baseball caps.
6pack Jon 09-11-2007, 01:22 PM Hipshot rules.
Rodent 09-11-2007, 05:56 PM you can include me in the long list of those who have had stellar experiences with Hipshot :hyper:

Eric618 09-11-2007, 06:07 PM HUGE kudos to Hipshot. I've got at least one Hipshot product on all my basses. I've got nothing but great things to say about every product of theirs that I have ever used.
J.D.B. 09-11-2007, 08:19 PM Jason and Bill have done very well by me, too. The BEST customer service in the business!

DigthemLows 09-12-2007, 12:19 AM Got Hipshot products on all three of my builds and have a box with a 4 string hipshot Trem sitting here with a scary diagram for the next bass I'm building.....woo hoo for Hipshot!
tjclem 09-12-2007, 05:26 AM Is there a trick to getting hipshot tuners to feel as smooth as the Gotohs?
Jazz Ad 09-12-2007, 05:36 AM Jason and Bill have done very well by me, too. The BEST customer service in the business!
JoshAnd without a doubt the worst email following.
Good luck getting answers other than on the phone.
Great products though.

I emailed Jason late Friday not expecting a reply till Mon or Tues. He replied on Sunday. Not bad in my books.
Dirk Diggler 09-12-2007, 05:29 PM Yeah Jason told me he is the only one dealing with emails. He said he gets around 170 a day, and that's not counting spam! Call them if you need to know something immediately, they answer right away every time I've called.
Dirk
p.s. I should let him know about this thread, lotta love for them here obviously. :)

tjclem 09-13-2007, 09:33 AM Is there an advantage to ordering the ultralights direct through hipshot vs. LMI?
