I bought a new L2000 in August. It is a great bass. Last night while playing it, the intonation screw for the A string just fell out.:help: I tried putting it back in but it is too short. From the top of the head of the screw to the end of the screw is 1 inch long. From the bottom of the head to the end looks to be 3/4 inch long. I have not had to adjust the intonation as everything was perfect so this kind of stunned me. I am thinking that if this screw is too short, than the others must be short also. Where can I get these screws? I also noticed that the action on the E string is pretty high. When I adjusted the string height, the saddle was all the way down to the bridge and the action was still high. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

It sounds like it's time for a complete setup.

I was tightening the truss rod on my SB-2 today. Loosened all the strings, gave it a 1/4 turn and tuned back up. Was about to play a bit and noticed a screw on the floor.

Same thing happened, the A string intonation screw came loose from the saddle and dropped out of the bridge. Nothing else moved and you had to look close to really notice the screw was not there as the spring and saddle stayed in place. I put everything back together and was able to set the intonation properly while still having some "bite" of the screw into the saddle, but it will be watched closely as it is obviously near the end of it's adjustment range.
