The two things I want to do in my life are travel and play music, so a cruise ship musician seems a pretty obvious choice for me.

I did a little research, and I found a company called ProShip that places musicians on cruise liners. They have pretty high standards for their players, but I will be going to music school, so I'm sure they will prepare me.

Has anyone ever played in a cruise ship band, or know someone that has? Did you/they enjoy it? What kind of places did you/they get to see? Anything else you want to tell me about it?

Thanks!

My drummer of 9 years went did some Carnival stuff. Said he LOVED it. He got on because the band that was already hired needed a drummer.

I think it was like 25000 for 6 months work but the food and board was free as well as when the ship docked you could visit the port as long as you were back for muster.
