For some reason, I feel like I must make myself clear that I am not asking which string is better, which string has blah blah blah tension, or which string has this sound or that voiceing. I've tried my best to do a search on this particular question (these strings are talked about ALOT, but never is it mentioned what I need. OK so here goes...
I recently setup a friends bass with TI Jazz rounds and loved the low tension and feel of the strings, not to mention the tone. I was planning on getting a set until I played on some Labella Tapewounds, which are really nice too. My question to all you string gurus out there, which of the two have you found to be more responsive to touch? I like to move my right hand around quite a bit to vary the sound from lyrical by the fingerboard or dry and almost fretted-like by playing by the bridge. The Labellas sound sick! but the muah is a bit hard to get out of the sound sometimes. So are the TIs easier to control?
