I know people are asking about about what should be on their boards all the time but I've done some research and just need some advice.

I'm into playing heavy rock songs similar to RATM and Tool and I know I won't get anywhere near to recreating there tones but I'm just looking for some pedals that can be used well in these types of songs. I'm also looking to do this as cheap as possible.

At the moment I'm looking at:

Danelectro Fab Flanger
Danelectro Fab Echo (with variable delay mod)
Digitech Bass Synth Wah
Digitech Bad Monkey
Electro Harmonix Little Big Muff

If anyone has any suggestions of better pedals then feel free to add.

I also have no idea in what order to put these so if I could have some advice it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Ben

I would suggest not the FAB effects, they may be affordable but it's a waste and you'll have less money than you did in the beginning.

looks good but i would suggest ditching the Digitech Synth Wah for a Boss AW-3 Dynamic wah. Its a sick pedal. And go for a modded EHX Big Muff (Russian model). with True Bypass and AC power adapter they pop up on ebay sometimes.

+1

I would suggest picking either flange or delay to start, and looking for a used Boss BF2 or DD3. That way you'll have something that will last and will have some kind of resale value if you ever want to trade up.

I think the others are great choices though.

I would take BSW over AW3. I had an AW3, and it is a sick pedal on paper, but I found it to sound weak and be difficult to control.

I'm with speak_onion on this one. Other than your Danelectro pedals, you've got a great start.

I'm not sure if the Little Big Muff will meet your needs, though (it's a bit out of bounds for Tool and RATM tones).

to be honost, i think the bass synth wah is a great pedal for the price. I mean, its digitech so its hard to cope with that but its a great pedal imho. my advise to you is this, dont comprimise quality because of the cost. Better to have a few great pedals than alot of ****** ones. If you comprimise on quality it will show in your tone, you will have humming, hissing, volume spikes and drops, diminished tone...you name it. Heres what i say you should check into.

Ashdown drive plus - for that timmy c sound
bass synth wah - because why not, its funky
BF-3 flanger by boss - justin uses either this one or the bf-2 im not sure which one it is, but its a pretty decent pedal for the cost
and a dd-3 or 6 delay pedal by boss

check these out, you can probably get all of those used for around 200-300 denero. peace
