VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Evil Filter
00Funk 09-27-2007, 11:06 AM Why does a filter have to be evil ?
Anyway, has anyone heard this thing. Is it any good ?

stedtale 09-27-2007, 11:07 AM obviously it filters out the evil, duh.
:D
markjazzbassist 09-27-2007, 11:12 AM i think it's evil cause it's got fuzz and a ring mod and it's by death by audio. they are famous for taking effects past extreme and into just pure noise territory.

Don't let being a born-again sway your choice in pedals ;)

+1. I bought one of their other pedals, a custom Green Ringer clone, and when I got I was like "oh yeah, I forgot this guy is in a noise band and makes pedals for noise music, duh." It wasn't hissy, just harsh and aggro sounding.
MysticBoo 09-27-2007, 12:01 PM I have never seen that pedal, and I've thoroughly browsed the DBA custom gallery...
It's probably a custom, one-of-a-kind thing, definitely geared for noise and chaos. :D

It's a new release actually :)
MysticBoo 09-27-2007, 12:35 PM Really?
Then I MUST have it! :bassist:
Seriously... one of these days, I'm going to get a DBA pedal on my board. I just need to find the right one for me...
...or commission DBA to make the right one for me. :D
speak_onion 09-27-2007, 12:49 PM I was really interested in that filter when I first heard of it. I was like, "DBA make a filter? Whaa? I'll take 2." But then I found out it's a static filter, no LFO or envelope control. Oh well.

that thing looks old...not new...are the "relic'ing" them to look like they've been road hard?
Max Roberts 09-27-2007, 01:09 PM Well it's new according to this... http://www.analoguehaven.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=128

Anyone want to be the first to test? :D

They are silkscreened by hand, so there's some inherent spottiness from that... plus I think he does like the glitchy look anyway.
fishtx 09-27-2007, 01:19 PM It's also got those cool old retro looking knobs...interesting...
jackcregg 09-27-2007, 01:25 PM AWESOME!!!
SOUNDS.... EVIL!!!
by the way, Mystic Boo for your avatar are you just getting more and more modern versions of the mario ghosts?

Not really. I've just been randomly cycling through an assortment of Boo avatars. :D
I'm really partial to this one - I've used it before, too.
Anyhow... did anyone check out the other new pedal that AnalogueHaven is carrying from DBA - the Robot?
After listening to clips of it... I now have three DBA pedals I'd love to own. It made my GAS worse - and hearing clips of the Evil Filter (whenever they release some clips) won't make it any better! :(
