Hello!

I am currently learning the DB by myself as there are no jazz or bass tutors in my area. I am strongly considering coming to the US to study jazz bass- I'm in Taiwan at the moment- and was wondering if you could recommend a specific institution near the beach somewhere? East or West coast, doesn't matter. I've never studied music formally so it would have to be some place that will except me with no previous training. Any ideas?

There are fine music programs on both coasts. I sugggest you consult the IAJE jazz education guide and the new Jazz Times magazine has a education guide suppliment.
