Hi Guys,
I decided I would throw this up here on TB before moving to ebay. Unfortunately I am very sad to part with this bass but I need the money as I am going through a divorce. :bawl:
ANyways, you all should know what makes the Chris Squire such a special bass. You should also know why the price tag is what it is. Unfortunately I am willing to let this go for less than I paid for it. These basses are ones that are sure to only rise in value so you are probably purchasing an appreciating asset. :)
I would say the condition is great for being 10 years old. The neck plays like a dream and the body is in great shape. The only noticible thing is the tiny crack on the pick guard (see pic). The Chrome pickup cover plate (around the horseshoe) is also spotty with some wear but you can by a new one at pickguardian for not too much money. You can also see a slight discoloration on the back of the body but it looks like it is from sitting in it's case and not from any belt rash or anything like that.

This bass is an absolute beast when it comes to tone!!

If you want to hear the bass in action here is a video I did a while back. Please excuse my playing :spit:, but if you loved Paul D'Amour's tone on Undertow well here it is....nothing fancy needed. All you need is this bass and a decent amp.

I am asking $4000. This is not the same one that is on ebay right now!

There is only one trade I would even consider and that would have to be a Rick 4001V63 plus $$.

Here are some pics.

That sounds GOOOOOOOOD! Don't have anywhere near the cash for that but good luck! Someone's getting a SWEET bass! One of the two coolest Rics ever! (Lemmy's ltd ed. is the other).

YES! I'd love to have it, but $4,500 is a lot of dough. It's worth it, but your average player usually doesn't have that kind of money laying around.

Bump for a nice sound clip/demonstration. I do think you're asking a bit much. It has been used, and thus, it's value has been decreased. I see Ritter basses selling for 4300$, and those are the height of opulence.

But it's your call, and good luck!

Apples and Oranges. These are limited run collectors. An investment really. If you're looking for a player, you could pick up a brand new 4001C64 that sounds just as good for less than half the price.

10 even 5 years from now though, let's see what this authentic CS is worth in comparison to a Ritter or a Ric C64 ;)

Absolutely. And there will be a much larger group of people desperately trying to get their hands on one. Will I sell mine whe that day comes? Probably not, but we'll see.....

I am very interested in this model of bass, and am deffinantly going to buy one. I have a few questions though; namely is it well balanced, what number of production this one is, and if anyone knows what kind of "high-gain" pickups P.D. replaced the originals with. I'm sorry Brad, but I don't have the money yet, so unless you still have this bass this time next year I won't be able to buy it, I'm just begging you for the scraps of information I soooo strongly desire. Also, where did you get this from?

This bass is a reminder that one can never be too rich or too thin.
