I have for sale a Guild Pilot Bass model SB604. This bass is in fair condition. It has been used over the years and has some wear & tear to show for it. This bass is 1984 production and is mostly original. Notables as follows:
- The 'E' string Grover tuner was replaced with a Schaller at some point in time. Close match, but not identical.
- The headstock has suffered from repeated attempts at getting a string retainer to stay affixed. It's not totally hacked, but the logo and paint are damaged. As seen in the photo, there are multiple holes drilled. The current string retainer is home made but functional.
- The body has minor dings. Nothing really through the finish, but they're there. The neck has a few dings too, but nothing that affects playability.
- The body has buckle rash and scratches on the back. Not terrible, but very noticeable.
- The pickup covers are worn. They're not destroyed by any means, but the wear from playing is evident.
- This bass needs a good setup. The action is too low and the relief needs adjusted.
- The cavity cover is cracked at one of the mounting screws. This is apparently a common problem with these basses.
- The knobs are not original.
That's it for the noteable deficiencies. This bass has a beautiful body constructed of SOLID flamed maple. It features active EMG pickups. The neck is 22 frets. Everything is solid.

If you always wanted a Pilot but didn't want a poplar body and didn't want to pay $450 + for a maple one, here's an opportunity to get one that will be a good bass with only a little TLC.
Looking for $300 without the case.
