Does anyone know who the bass player was for "We Are Family" on this Sister Sledge Album? "We Are Family (Remastered)" released on Sept. 18th 2006, Synergy Ent. Here is the amazon link if it helps:

+1 Bernard Edwards!! Chic-Nile Rogers & Bernard wrote & produced all the decent S.Sledge stuff. Nice bass on tracks by Chic- 'chic cheer', Good times. Sledge- We R Family, Greatest Dancer, Thinking about you. One o' my faves!

It always gives me joy to hear Bernard Edwards being mentioned. He was as great an influence as any in my very modest bass playing career.:)

This wikipedia quote made a great impression on me:
In 1996 Nile Rodgers was named JT Superproducer of the Year in Japan, and was invited to perform there with Chic in April of that year. Just before the concert at the Budokan Arena in Tokyo, Edwards fell ill, but despite Rodgers' insistence, he refused to cancel the gig. He managed to perform but had to be helped at times. After the concert he retired to his hotel room where he was later found dead by Rodgers. The cause of death was ruled to be pneumonia.

One thing Nile said about the last gig was wild. He said in the middle of a song, Bernard laid out and came back in at the perfect time, and he thought, "Damn, that's genius! Why didn't I write the song like that?!" Afterwards, he found out that Bernard had passed out, came to, and jumped back in one on the "one". :bassist: Groove is in the heart, fellas.
