However im a newbie to this website and I want to know what everyone thinks about Stanely Clarke. Christopher 01-21-2002, 10:52 PM Great player, but few of his albums as a leader have aged well. He tries too hard to fit in with current R&B trends, which makes anything older than five years sound horribly dated. For laughs, check out "Time Exposure" and "Clarke/Duke Project II." Hint: "Thriller" was hot then. "The Rite of Strings" is probably an exception. I'd like to hear him do more straightahead jazz. supergreg 01-21-2002, 10:57 PM Lol. I will download those songs next time i have a chance. And be fair. Thriller kicks ass.
