Hi,

I've just bought a bass scale book.
it has the pentatonic,major,minor etc scales.

The purpose I bought that book is that so I can do a bass solo while I'm playing in a band,
I played pop and jazz.

So I'm just wondering which scale should I used?
Or Is there a good combination of scales for a bass solo i.e: Pentaonic scale and mixoldyan scale.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. It has been crazy here!
Be sure to see Lynn Seaton's forum on jazz bass too!
Practice ALL scales and arpeggios. I have some Etudes that cover two approaches to fingereing: Rhythmic and Positional. You can get these "Etudes" from ISGMUSIC.COM. Perhaps they'd help.
Other books I recommend too, including scale studies of Simandl, Rabbath, Libon, Montanari, Hrabe, etc. Basically, if there is a method or etude book you don't own, buy it!.
