Wow. I played JTs Conklin Double neck and it was somewhere in the range. I also played a 7 string Conklin that was at least 15-18 lbs.

UPS is probably charging their "oversize" rate, because of the dimensions of the package.

If you look at any of the basses on the Rondo site, they have this note:

"Note, this item is "UPS oversize" and ships as if it weighs 30 lbs. Actual weight is only 9 lbs"

if you are not a bodybuilder do not buy it!

That's got to be wrong.
JT's double neck is 24lbs or something.

Unless the bass is one piece of Solid Oak, then I doubt it's 30lbs.

Imagine the sustain!

Nigel: The sustain, listen to it.
Marty: I don't hear anything.
Nigel: Well you would though, if it were playing.

It's molded lead painted to look like wood.

A little off topic I know, but I gotta put this out there...

A guitarist I once played with built all of he's own instruments. He wanted to build a guitar that had the chrome finish appearance, so what does he do... He gets a body cast and cut out of solid steel!!! No S@*! This thing weighed like 50 or 60kg, It was like an inch, maybe an inch and a half thick... He brought it into the studio one and it was 2 or 3 times hotter than any of his other guitars. Very top end heavy, but sounded alright... Unbelievable!!

His other guitars weighed 20-30kg? As in, 45-65 pounds?
