I've decided to offer up my 4001 Jetglo (March '80) up for tradeor sale. I'm looking for a newer 4003 in a different color. I'm looking for, in order, blueburst, desert gold, turquoise, white, midnite blue, amber fireglo, fireglo, mapleglo. Basically anything but jetglo.

I got this in a trade, and I love it, but jetglo is my least favorite Ric color, so it's on the block. Functionally and electronically the bass is perfect. It sounds and plays incredibly. I've currently got it strung up with D'addario Half Rounds (45-100) and it plays like a dream. Being almost 30 years old, it does have some play wear, and I tried to picture all the wear spots. The finish has chipped away in a few spots at the binding, specifically around the jackplate, at the butt end by the strap button, and wear your right arm would rest. Also there are a couple small chips on the back of the neck where it meets the headstock and a couple spots on the front of the headstock. The bass is all original except the jackplate screws (originals included), the bridge pickup cover, and the case. It comes with a Modulus case that fits it perfectly (pictured). Let me know if you've got something to offer. Again, I'm only interested in trades for other Ric basses. I would prefer a newer 4003, but I would be open to some older 4003s and 4001s. I've had a couple messages already, and though I appreciate the enthusiasm, the only trade I'm looking for would be another Rickenbacker bass.

Nice Ric. Yeah, I find it kind of funny that 90% of all Rics here are all Jetglo. They're not bad looking, but there's such a lack of other Rics around here.
