We recorded on Saturday afternoon, in order to improve the quality of our demo cd and to lay the foundation for a cd of a quality we feel good about selling to people.

Now, in my past experiences (albiet few), recording has been a pretty boring, uncomfortable, and frustrating experience. Either the engineer didn't seem to care about our sound much, or he tried to make us sound like something he likes, but that really isn't, you know...us.

Well...honey, this was a big change from all of that!

He had our drummer come in the night before and get all the drums miked, tuned, etc. Everything in the studio was ready for us when we got there. Ran through some songs to get the levels right, and we were off to the races. This engineer kept us on track without making us feel like we were being bossed. He made the entire process *fun*! I've never really had fun recording before!

The unmixed live tracks already sound better than anything I've ever worked on. I can't wait to hear the finished product!

We're going back in to do some more recording on Saturday, and then we'll go in individually and do tracks for whatever we think we need to.

I can't wait!

Excellent! That's what recording sessions are SUPPOSED to be like!

Good engineer and a good environment make all the difference.

Hey Cherie,
I checked out your bands myspace and really like the tunes.
(the blurb on Ron's page is a freakin hoot!)

I really do need to change my signature!

Thanks for the Knowbodys props. Honestly, that's my favorite band. I really miss having Ron around all the time. I'm glad you like the songs...I do, too. Out of every project I've ever done, The Knowbodys will always be my favorite. I just love those songs!

We still play together, but only a couple times a year. However, when Ron comes back for another round, I'm going to have us record with this engineer I worked with on Saturday. He costs about the same as the one The KB's used last spring, but he's sooooooooooooo much better!

This most-recent session was with Chrome Wheels, my "all the time" band. (myspace.com/thechromewheels) We want to improve the tracks we have available to use on MySpace and demos and whatnot, and record a "real" album. :hyper: We're also going to be featured on the local Fox affiliate's morning news show on 11/19. They feature live music every morning, and they want us to have something to promote when we're in there. So...lotsa great studio time coming up. I'm so STOKED!!! :hyper:

Thanks y'all! I can't believe we have another session this Saturday, and I'm *excited* about it! We'll be promoting the new cd on a television appearance on 11/19. If I can get a web stream for it, I'll post it for you.

If you ever need a good engineer in Austin, I've got yer guy!

SQUEEEEEE!!! :hyper:

When things arent going well with the engineer, I throw a hand grenade into their booth.
