Hello all,

After Ray Parker hit a nerve yesterday, I was reminded that I need some woodshedding on my two feel. I either feel that I'm being offensively simplistic, playing a country line under a Sinatra tune, or just generally not swinging. Any suggestions on good players or recordings to check out for inspiration?

As always, thanks for your help,
-Danny

Buster Williams on Kenny Barron's "Green Chimneys". The pocket is so solid on that record you won't believe it....Buster is KILLING on this disc.

PC and Jimmy Cobb w/ Miles, _Live at the Blackhawk_, "Bye Bye Blackbird," and "All of You."
Then, for something very different, check out Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones on the Trane disc with Johnny Hartman.
