OK I love bass, I love it more than guitar, I love the booming sound, I love the growl I love the way it's played but there has always been one thing that kinda irked me, those beautiful bluesy hard rockin guitarists can pull off (most notably Slash for me). I mean I see the guy play and it just wows me the feel he puts into his solo's it sounds AMAZING. He is probably the only guitarist who has a big influence on me style wise. Now I'm not a guy who wants bass to sound like a guitar but are there any bass players who put that kind of feel into solo's, is it doable I mean I think what makes Slash's solo's sound so good to my ear is the fact that he bends those high notes and makes em sing.

So are there any bassists who put that kind of style into they're playing, with a lot of feel, it's just something I found was kind of missing.

That Buckethead vs Slash video was interesting. Buckethead was technically better, but Slash has soul. I've always been a fan of Slash.

There's no reason you can't bend strings on the bass. I do it on a country song. You just might have to work on it until you get the sound you want.

It might help to use lighter strings when you start.
