SOLD.

OK, I bought this from TB'er Knifemaker in August and it's definitely lived up to its description (see link below to original thread) - huge presence from the 18V preamp, a ton of different sounds with the phase shifting/parallel-to-series/active tone boost & cut options and a nice narrow but still substantially chunky maple/maple neck...ash body...brass top nut & bridge. LOVE the sound of the P pickup on this! Thinking of selling it because (1) I just put a maple neck on my Precision Special, in part because this bass convinced me that I'm pretty much a maple fingerboard guy, and (2) good as this preamp sounds I've been using it in passive mode with my Sadowsky outboard pre as I'm really getting used to that particular EQ bump & shaping. Thought of modding with a J pickup upgrade (higher output), maybe pulling the pre out entirely and going with passive switching, but it'd be a shame to mess with something that's working well. See original thread for pictures and more description, here's a brief summary:

34" scale
maple fretboard, ash body, brass top nut & bridge
neck 1.575 at the nut, 2.450 at the 20th fret.
P/J (3-way pickup selector switch) with 18V preamp circuit & separate battery compartment
3 knobs (vol, active treble/bass boost, passive tone/active mid boost)
3 small switches (series/parallel, phase/reverse, active on/off)

open to trades, run 'em by me.
