Up for sale is my black USA Steinberger XQ-2A. This model has two EMG HB-CS pickups in an 18-volt setup with 2-band active EQ and pickup blend knob, as well as a graphite neck. Unlike the original Steinbergers, this model also has a truss rod for tweaking the action (though after a small initial tweak, I've never had to adjust the truss in the 8 months or so that I've owned the bass).
The XQ is about as close as you can get to the sound of an L or XL with any Steinberger model currently in production. The neck profile on these is also not quite as chunky as the original L and XL's. If you want that sound but don't like the "shoebox" body and/or don't want to pay $2G+ for an '80s Steinberger on eBay, these are a viable alternative.
This was purchased as a "Scratch and Dent" from MusicYo earlier this year, but I can't find any noticeable flaws anywhere on the bass. It has been used in my home studio only and has never been gigged.
More info on the model here: http://www.musicyo.com/product_specs.asp?pf_id=255
Comes with Steinberger hard case in like-new condition and the original allen wrenches, plus an extra unopened set of Status Graphite strings.
$800 shipped UPS Ground insured to the lower 48. No shipping outside the USA. PayPal or Postal Money Order accepted.
Here are a few pics (black basses are always a pain to photograph, you get nothing but reflections, but I did my best...)
