So I was playing a gig for this private birthday party Saturday night. At the end of the night, they bring the birthday guy (whos nice and toasty off beers) to sing some tunes. He asked did we know "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top. Of course the rest of the band knew it, but I didnt because I JUST started listening to diff types of rock. I just said go head Ill pick it up. Well when they broke out the song (guitarist tells me to ride C) I was like, Hey I KNOW THIS SONG! Needless to say, I ended up grooving it up and making it through.

Funny thing was, the only reason I remembered the song is because it used to be the intro song to WCW Wrestling back in the 80's when it came on Sat morning LOLOLOL!! I hadnt heard that song in atleast 15-20 yrs!

Whats some crazy/odd ways youve remembered songs?

I've played songs on the fly that I really didn't know in my head, but my fingers seemed to know the way.

My old high school buddies and I got back together after about 30 years, and decided to jam. Without blinking an eye, we launched into a fairly decent version of "The Doctor" from West, Bruce and Laing. Funny thing is, we had never played it before, although we were all big fans.

I learned the Star Wars main theme when I started playing bass, along with a bunch of other crappy theme songs. Was stoned and was like, damn I wish I remember how to play Star Wars, that'd cheer everyone up. Apparently not...

But hey! At least I remembered it...

I remembered Californication because it used to bring a friend of mine on the verge of tears (brought up memories of a bad breakup). Me and another friend used to randomly play it when he was around. :)
