The pickups on both Highway 1s (P and J) have a truly vintage tone to them. ... peace Mean Gene17 11-21-2007, 08:14 PM The Highway 1 also has the Greasebucket™ Tone Circuit (Rolls Off Highs without Adding Bass). My Highway one pickups sound way better than my MIM. The american jazz has the S-1 switching which I did not care for. warnergt 11-21-2007, 11:15 PM Those Highway 1's are sweet. I don't think you can touch them for the money. Speaking of the S-1 switching, I have an American P Bass with it. The S1 switching is no big deal. But the P Bass is friggen' awesome! kyral210 11-22-2007, 12:44 AM just email fender support, that will solve the problem. Personally im a die hard Seymour Duncan fan, so replace all my stock pickups. Remember that when a guitar pickup is chosen for a mass produced guitar/ bass, they go a very middle of the road sound. If you want to sound like you, get your new duncan that suits your need. r379 11-22-2007, 02:03 AM I don't email if I can get someone on the phone because I've always got follow-up questions. You can call Fender at 480 596 9690.
