Rock/Metal... not so much... maybe the OB-1 with the lower treble shelving point and the higher (I think bass center frequency point with wider Q). The Bart pre would also be nice, as would the Sadowsky unit. IMO. SgtKoi 11-22-2007, 12:17 PM I know Flea uses OBP-1, so...he plays funk and rock and *insert new music style that rhcp made* Rano Bass 11-22-2007, 07:29 PM OBP-3 i say. The treble is not that high, Musicman preamps are about the same frequency. Fawkes007 11-22-2007, 07:58 PM I voted "other." I really like the Demeter in my Roscoe. PilbaraBass 11-22-2007, 08:15 PM my favorite preamp for getting the sound you describe is called the "air amp" ...it's so small you can't even see it ...it can be placed ANYWHERE in your signal chain or even inside your bass ...it can be found on ANY bass that's listed as a "passive bass" SgtKoi 11-22-2007, 08:37 PM my favorite preamp for getting the sound you describe is called the "air amp" ...it's so small you can't even see it ...it can be placed ANYWHERE in your signal chain or even inside your bass ...it can be found on ANY bass that's listed as a "passive bass" ...o_0 :eyebrow: ecufunk 11-23-2007, 03:54 PM anyone has been played the retro preamps? i got one, i like it but it seems to be a little dirty....its my though sebastian 12-14-2007, 01:03 AM Sadowsky pre-amp. |
