Has anyone compared the older Korean made G&L Tribute L2500 (or any model for that matter) to the newer Indonesian made Tribute L2500? I know both have US made pickups but otherwise are entirely imported. On the more shallow front, I will say that the newer logo on the headstock is a lot sharper looking than the plain black Tribute logo on the older model. But never mind that, how does one sound, feel, and play compared to the other?

Anyone?

I compared the Korean and Indonesian L-2500. Hard to tell apart, except that the Indonesian instrument was set up better, with the nut cut to where it should be. The Korean model had a somewhat high nut.

The only thing I didn't like was that the washers on the switches of the Indonesian version had little tabs sticking up.

Either way, a nice bass.

I actually like those tabs. Initially I thought they were an aesthetic flaw, until I realized that the tabs point in the direction that the toggle switches flip to. They were very helpful when I was realigning the switches. Function > Form

I just went through a swap of an Korean L2000 for Indonesian L2500. I think the tuners on the new bass might be a hair better - that's about it. I guess I appreciate the smaller Tribute Logo on the headstock as well froman aesthetics point of view - but I'm not all that hung up on 1 vs the other ...

The logo changed briefly (from the large to small 'tribute') on the last batch of Korean models, just before Cort scaling down their Korean operation and started moving Tribute production to Indonesia. I have one of these, a natty L2500 in natural swamp ash w/maple board. It's no different to the Indonesian models tho, as far as i can see....

Hello. I've got one of each and I wouldn't say there's much to tell them apart. The newer logo and bridge do look a lot nicer stamped "G&L" rather than Tribute. Both feel good, sound great and I'm really pleased with them. I'm a G&L convert!

That's just the one that I want! I will need to wait until my dealer can grab one-evidently there aren't any in stock (I know other dealers have them, but I will wait).

Also have the black SB-2 (Tribby) on order...

must not dwell on this...
