I'm pretty sure it was actually a ProCo Turbo Rat, to be specific. Correct on the other two. He also used a Foxx Fuzz Wah for The Pot. ndrly 11-25-2007, 03:17 PM Oh yeah. I forgot about the Fuzz/wah. I think I also read somewhere that he may have used a Crowther Prunes and Custard one time. MysticBoo 11-25-2007, 07:54 PM You could use a Big Muff for "H," but it wouldn't sound entirely right. Other than that, you won't find any use for it in covering Tool songs. SKATE RAT 11-25-2007, 07:57 PM i have both a Rat and a Muff and they are not that different sounding, bigchiefbc 11-25-2007, 08:39 PM i have both a Rat and a Muff and they are not that different sounding, I've played a Turbo Rat and a Little Big Muff, and I think they are very different. The Muff to me has always had a smooth, warm fuzz tone, whereas I always found the Turbo Rat to much harsher and colder. I think it does a good job on Jambi. At least mine does... .then again, IME, no two Muff's have sounded the same. MysticBoo 11-25-2007, 09:53 PM I think it does a good job on Jambi. At least mine does... .then again, IME, no two Muff's have sounded the same. Ooh, I forgot about Jambi! Yeah, for that over-the-top fuzzy distortion, it'll do the trick nicely. But for overdrive... tough luck - that's not what the Big Muff is for. Tbirdbassist 11-25-2007, 10:13 PM I think anyone trying to use a Muff for overdrive must not be corresponding the name of the damn thing to the sound it has... :smug: |
