VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Cabinet stolen...and recovered
jgsbass 11-25-2007, 03:54 PM Long story
Saturday morning, the local police knock on our door and ask questions about the night before ("did you hear any cars? etc) and tell us that the house across the street had some property removed over the night. I think nothing of it until right before I have to leave for a gig. I open the trunk of my car to check and...wheres... my... Avatar? Not there, not in the house:who am I kidding,I know I put it in after my last gig and I saw it Thursday morning before I left for Thanksgiving. Its gone, I'm screwed. I grab my SWR cab and off to work I go. My wife calls me and tells me she found the cabinet. Outside, two houses down, behind a tree. Evidently it was too big or too heavy for the car the theives used and they left it. My neighbor found it and was gonna rub it in my face, thinking he found a good deal for free.
So, its back home and I learned my lesson.
Never buy Neo, its too easy to steal.
ClassicRock55 11-25-2007, 04:42 PM Glad you got your stuff back at least...
Did it get stolen out of your trunk or the back seat of your car? I feel more wary and wary leaving my stuff in the car between gigs now.
jgsbass 11-25-2007, 04:54 PM Taken out of the trunk. Door was not locked but car was in my driveway.
mattofash 11-27-2007, 06:42 AM that sucks, but at least you got it back. lucky not a guitardist cus they coulda ran away with that.

You were lucky!
I always lock my car every time I get out and never leave anything of value in it. My trunk isn't secure and I doubt if many are anymore. You can push a button and open my trunk without keys or the car running, which seems stupid to me.

I don't leave anything of value in the car, but I never lock it. That way the moron thieves don't have to break in, only to find nothing.
punkbassistfc 11-27-2007, 08:11 AM I hate thieves.

Glad you got your cab back.
But that last line kills me!!!!!
Just buy a big ol' Basson 8x10. Trust me, it's not going to go anywhere (because it's 230 pounds lol).
Stuggi 12-02-2007, 11:52 AM Luckily we don't have this **** in Finland, no thieves bother with musical gear since it's so hard to move, and there isn't many pawnshops around.
LumpyGravy 12-03-2007, 04:06 PM That sucks, but you got your cab back. My house got burglurized one time. The thieves walked right past my rig. 2 4x10 cabs with my effects and power amps. Bass sitting on it's stand. They opted for stealing my ex-wife's jewelry. Really sucks. Nothing ever was recovered.
Congrats on finding the cab.
I never put gear in the car , simply because most insurance wont cover.

lol my last two gigging cabs were peavey 1810 and basson sound B210b, both over 100 pounds! I couldn't GIVE them away!!

Too easy to steal. But apparently not easy enough to transport...
