VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Greatest thing ANY g**tarist has ever said!
NWF Bassist 11-27-2007, 04:50 AM recently my band finished our new cd, and during the mixing we found that a guitar track I had laid while showing the g**tarist was accidently left in the final mix. When I told him had laughed and said that it was pretty cool, and he didn't have a problem. I then jokingly told him if he wanted he could lay a bass track on the next album, to which he responded by saying......
"Dude I can't play bass, let alone like you."
I'm not really that good, but it was nice to hear a g**tarist admidt that for once.
When the guitarist told me that I'm a better musician than him and he's going to study jazz next year and I don't :hmm: cause I'm now studying economics
Depth_Charge 11-27-2007, 06:42 AM After watching a video of a rehearsal, one guitarist told me I was "the complete package". He also told me I "play the **** out of the bass" and that I "practically play lead bass coz I am all over the fretboard". Pity it didn't last. He tore the band a new butt hole to bring in eye candy for a singer, but the compliments were great while they lasted :D
chaosMK 11-27-2007, 10:06 AM I dont really care what guitarists think about me or my playing.
Vic Winters 11-28-2007, 01:02 AM I was told by one of the guitarists in my old band that I was the one he looked to to keep things solid/together.
my guitarist says, "i'm buying the beer tonight"
Alaska Bass 11-28-2007, 01:57 AM The nicest thing a guitard ever said to me was "Hey, I'm going to roll off the bass so we don't sound muddy." The second was "How about I mute that E string more so it doesn't mess with the bass?"
Ahhhh, if only there were more like him.
wingnut 11-28-2007, 09:41 AM "Nice A$$ and you flog the hell outta that bass" yes, she was a chick guitar player...
Stuggi 11-29-2007, 08:21 AM Greatest comment from a guitarist was at a 4-band gig when we where the last band on stage and the guitarist from the former band said these two things:
"Wish our bassist was as good as you!"
"Get up on stage and show 'em how a bass is meant to be played!"
MooseLumps 11-30-2007, 01:18 AM bar owner throws together a jam session. I attend, but dont play. Very Respected drummer is running the show (gets paid royalties for drumtracks you hear on the radio). I walk in, use the can, when i come out half the bar is chanting my name. I get onstage and use borrowed gear to play a few songs for the crowd. I start to head offstage to let someone else on and the drummer shouts through the p.a. "If you get offstage, we are done for the night." it was 8:45 or so. @ 1 he lets me off and closes the session. He actually told other, better bassists to take a hike. I was very flattered and a little uncomfortable, but mostly flattered
All The key players kicked ass that night as well, the planets aligned or something.

Sarah5string 12-02-2007, 01:49 PM The best thing my guitarist has ever said... 'could you turn the volume up on the bass? We really want you to drive the song'...
Ahhhh bliss..
