VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Where do you practice at?
John Davis 02-02-2002, 07:36 PM This was probably done, before, but I didn't see it in the search.
I just had to make this thread to brag.
My band now practices in an airport hangar. It's SOOOOOOO cool. :D
old_skool 02-02-2002, 07:39 PM Oh yeah? Well my band practicec in MY garage! Yeah...its heated. Thats right...airport shmairport :p.
DethLorD T_T 02-02-2002, 07:45 PM *is jealous*
that is so cool... take some photos, okay? :)
Mike88T 02-02-2002, 07:47 PM Here (http://personal.mia.bellsouth.net/mia/m/f/mfontebo/Studio/Studio.htm)
John Davis 02-02-2002, 07:48 PM That's cool, Mike!
Bob Clayton 02-02-2002, 07:51 PM my basement

Phat Ham 02-02-2002, 08:26 PM My band practices in my guitarist's living room. His roommate is in another band and we all practice there. It's kind of funny how the roommate can sleep through our practices.
The_Bass 02-02-2002, 08:33 PM an airport hangar? that's pretty cool!
my band practices in a room over a auto-workshop and next to the local union office and a Troll-fixing-thingy... :)
so we have the key and access to that pretty much 24/7... and in the next room there's a kitchen! :D
but since we went to different schools we're on hiatus and only play in holidays, and will next summer... :)
TooFunkToDrunk 02-02-2002, 09:14 PM my band practices at a rehearsal studio downtown. We used to jam at my house until my neighbour complained  but it's all good cos the studio is a sweet place to jam with great acoustics and a comfy lounge with FREE COFFEE! :D also, we can jam all night, so we usually go from 7 to 1 or 2 in the morning! Very cool!
Mike N 02-02-2002, 09:24 PM At the Drummers house.
Brendan 02-02-2002, 09:27 PM In my guitarists Garage. It's not glamerous but it's isolated, fairly sound proof, and because we have priority over the cars, spacious. So there you have it.

sound like a U2 music video...
Erlendur Már 02-02-2002, 09:35 PM I practice at the same place as The_Bass except when I play with people at my school. Then we usually don´t practice.
cassanova 02-03-2002, 12:25 AM when at home i practice in a spare room, when im rehearsing with the group we practice in some ritzy club house for some posh apartment complex. I get to get all sweaty and then go jump into this huge pool, with really pretty waterfall or the jacquzi. :D
tallguybcs 02-03-2002, 02:43 PM At a practice studio, the drummers parents usually pay for it *like $30 a session*, but its cool cause we dont have to set up mics or anything, and bacause it is not overly used, we can call in that day and get a spot. We occasionally practice at my drummers house too.
On a side note, my drummer is by far the most intelligent member of the band. That bassist/songer *not me* is the least intelligent.
Brad Barker 02-03-2002, 02:51 PM the band i just joined and played with yesterday has access to a where-house (did i spell it like "where-wolf?" i just got the craziest visual in my head just now!)* that is used by some boyfriend of one of the band member's mom.
we don't have to pay a damn thing!
*imagine the first E as an O...:D
Brad Barker 02-03-2002, 03:01 PM (the first E in 'where house' i mean)
sorry for my lack of perspicacity
Brendan 02-03-2002, 03:07 PM Brad, finally got yourself a rock band then? Good going. Just gotta keep at it. Now just work your butt off! (You shoulda come to one of our shows! We had on Friday and Satuday. You'da cried at the bass playing, but not the show...)
Brad Barker 02-03-2002, 03:20 PM it's kinda funny.
they already had the whole band together, minus a bassist. they even have band shirts!
(on the downside, the band's name is XeroHour*. that's right, zero is spelled with an "x.") :D
brendan's playing would be so beautifully delicate it would have me bursting into tears, right? [insert winking smiley here] actually, i would probably puke...but it would be due to your super-low tunings pounded out of your eden rig (and 18" cab?).
*don't get the wrong idea: we are a hard-rock band, not a metal band.
Brendan 02-03-2002, 03:34 PM Nope. 18" fell through...which means...sigh...the worst has happened. I need to get a job. But yeah, you may or may not feel some weakness in your knees when I start playing. :)
jazzbo 02-04-2002, 03:29 AM MISCELLANEOUS.
russ_4ft 02-04-2002, 12:00 PM We practice at the place which makes our t-shirts, it's called 'OTL' and it's in Cheltenham.
Hmmmm, an airport Hangar, are the acoustics dodgy?

embellisher 02-04-2002, 12:20 PM The originals band practices at the guitarist's house, he has a shed that he built out back specifically for practicing.
The oldies band has no place to practice for now. We used to practice at the singer's house, but he sold it. We did go this weekend to a barn that belongs to a coworker of the drummer's, and took the 4 tracks and did some demo recording.
eye_play_bass 02-04-2002, 12:37 PM We practice at our drummer's house, his drumset is in his garage.......:D

wotnwhy 02-04-2002, 12:46 PM my band has 4 practice places the reason for which is:
we all go to the same school (which is where we met) but we all live at least 20 mins from the school and all in opposite directions so if we just practiced at 1 of our houses it's REALLY inconvinient for the other 3 (understand?) so every week we go to someone elses house so 1 of us doesn't have to travel, but the best thing is the places we practice, thier all amazing!!!
the 1st one is is an empty bungalo which was converted into a resteraunt so they knocked all the walls down and made 2 rooms, 1 big and 1 smallish, after this was done they couldn't be bothered to start up the resteraunt and now we practice in the big room and chill and sleep in the smaller 1, it's also great 4 parties!
the 2nd is a mini hanger in my other band members farm and at the end of it there is a stage! it has been host to many raves and gigs and is a great place 2 jam!
the 3rd is my mates garage, resonably big with heating and all around the walls on the floor is pilles of padding, great for chilling out on and jumping into!
and lastly at my place we go to the local communtity hall, it has pool tables, table tennis, basket ball and a kitchen, and best of all we practice there FOR FREE!
but what makes all these places EVEN BETTER is that there are practically no houses n e where near them but the 1s that are have really sound people in them so we can jam all night!
right, thats the bragging over :D what do u think?

Bryan_G 02-04-2002, 12:46 PM The guitarist in the band works at a music shop down town. Everything closes about 6:00. After hours we can be as loud as we want and there is nobody to gripe. They only have ibanez and peavy basses(crapy models), so I bring my own, but the rest of the stuff we use right off the floor. We are carefull and take good care of the stuff. The guy who owns it doesn't care that we do it. Its nice you never have to worry about forgetting cables or tunners.
