This is a big benefit show they do in Baltimore this time every year. at the Lithuanian Hall. All Elvis, live bands and "tribute artists" (don't call them "imitators") on three floors - Main stage, the Jungle Room, and another I've never been to. Great time all around, and the food makes it worth playing for free.

I'm filling in with my friends from the Sookey Jump Blues Band out of DC, and we're backing up three Elvi, one of whom is 8 years old.

I'm thinking Jerry Scheff or David Hood, but I'm built more like Bill Black. What say you?

(Favorite Elvis bass line: "Kentucky Rain" - I think it was Tommy Cogbill but not 100% sure. :bassist:)

Bill Black was supercool but do you play upright?

Yeah, not too badly. Except the upright is at home and if I leave here at 3:30 (downtown DC) I won't have time to go home and make the soundcheck at 6. Heck, anything can happen in DC traffic...

So it's the P-bass clone in the trunk for tonight, unless someone in one of the other acts brings a doghouse, and will share. :bassist:
