I am putting a jazz together. I bought a cream white mexi body and need to know if a standard pickguard will fit. I want a brown/red tort guard. Also, Which neck is recommended? The only ones I found with pearloid blocks and binding are Warmoth and Allparts.
Any suggestions? Thanks, Bob

Warmoth necks are great, I've never tried an Allparts neck though. A standard pickguard should fit as well, I'm sure others would be able to verify this.

my understanding is that allparts necks are constructed more like the 'traditional' fender neck than warmoth, which uses dual rods for stability and a flatter fingerboard radius (i believe)
both mfgs produce great quality products, i think it's a matter of personal preference regarding wood selection, price, sound, etc.
i'm currently building up a jazz using a warmoth neck, which i chose based on my selection of wood and fingerboard

Well, I have a Dingwall AB1-5 that has a wenge board, a Spector USA bolt on that's all maple body and neck with a rosewood board, a Musicman SRay 5 with a rosewood board and de fretted, and a Dean 12string with maple/rosewood. I have had Lakland & FBass, so I am prolly looking for a traditional bass sound. The only concern is a flatsawn neck with no rods. Do you think it can stand up to tight strings? I might use Fender flats. I had a squire PBS that the neck could not take it, and I had to put on light strings.
Thanks, Bob
