OK, after soldering some connections on my son's pedal I've come to the conclusion my eyes are not what they used to be.
Do any of you use those headband optics with or without lights.
I'm looking for a quality product. Any brands that are better then the rest?
Thanks

I just turned 50, and I've been wearing bi-focals for a few years now. I wear a headband magnifier, and I use one of those florescent magnifier lamps for light. My headband magnifier is cheap.. I need a better one.

Besides wiring up preamps and stuff, I'm winding pickups. That thin wire is hard to see!

It's amazing what some proper lighting will do.

I have the same problem as you. I bought one of those headband thingies without a light from Stew Mac and it works well enough. You have to keep the lenses clean of course and avoid scratching them. I also bought a magnifying light that is on a swiveling gooseneck arrangement and it's also very handy. Stew Mac isn't cheap though.

Then a couple weeks ago I went to an optometrist and got some proper prescription reading glasses and it's fine for up close work like that as long as you have adequate light.

I'd suggest this option.

I'm sold. I can get one of these locally. I'll get a pair of glasses for reading also.
Thanks
