Up in the block is my 1998 Warwick Streamer LX. This is one of the older Warwicks, handmade in Germany, recessed straplocks, Wenge neck, 2-piece flame maple body, MEC P/J pickups, oil finish. This bass has the transparent black stain. This was definitely a players Bass and shows some wear, although it has been babied by this owner. I have done my best to show all the wear in the photos. There are several very minor nicks and knocks here and there on the front, but there is pronounced buckle rash on the back of the instrument. These are natural finish basses, so there is no flaking or cracked finish. The MEC decals on the pickups have been nearly rubbed off. That said, this bass is in great condition for being almost 11 years old. The frets show zero wear to the naked eye, the neck is in excellent condition, and there is no noise or roughness in the controls. The truss turns smoothly and the fretboard is dead straight. An inspection of the control cavity shows no dust, wear or tinkering. The bass is loud, clear and thickly voiced. Without breaking out the calipers I can say the neck in this bass is about a half an inch thinner at the nut than the "baseball bat" necks found on the newer Warwicks when viewed side to side. This bass sounds like nothing else Ive ever owned, really REALLY strong... but I have to let her go.
