This is one of those rarer Alembic Epic's.
Made in 1998 this one is number 32 of 60 total Special Editions made by Alembic, and it's approaching its 10-year anniversary. I'm dropping the price just this one time.
Flamed Maple top with Mahogany body.
Ebony board with the Oval Pearl inlays.
Some nice purple heart striping as well.
Pickups and electronics are all original.
There are just a couple of very small dings that are barely noticeable.
I've taken excellent care of it. In its nearly 10 years it's been to less than 10 gigs and 2 studio sessions. Other than that, it's been sitting at home. All in all, the bass looks and plays like a 2-year old Alembic.
The bass is hot and I think you're all familiar with what these are about. It just has never made it to my regular bass list which is why I have reluctantly decided to part with it. That's my mood today.
But in all honesty, if this doesn't sell by the end of the year, I'll wind up keeping it for another 10 years. Who knows what it might be worth then.
I bought a new fitted case from G&G made specifically for this model in 2006. As you might expect, (given my usage) there is not one single tear or scratch on it. That damn thing cost me $200!!!
The bass comes with the original paperwork, a truss rod wrench, and keys to the case, and of course the case.
I just re-strung it with a set of Markley Blue Steels, and polished all of the brass parts.
Price.....WAS $1,950. NOW $1,825 firm. Shipping is extra.
Please feel free to ask any questions.
