I'm the third owner of this bass. It's an awesome sounding fretless with the Bartolini MK-1 pups and 9v preamp. I got it for my church off of Biker4Him, a fellow TB'er. He had it defretted originally. Here's a link to the original thread when he sold it to me.

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=322501

Since I got it, I put one 2 inch scratch in the bass. A stupid once in a lifetime mistake when I set it down. I actually set it down with the strap of another bass laying over the stand and it scratched it. It's not very noticable unless you're right over the bass. It doesn't even go through the wood. Here's some pics of the scratch. There's some slight wear on the fretboard but nothing to worry about. Just some slight grooving from using nickel round wound strings.

I'm asking $350 for it. I'll split shipping costs with buyer. I don't have a case for it but I will pack it nice at tight so it will make the trip. I do have a double gig bag I can throw in at an extra $25.

As far as payment, since this is my first time selling on here I'll start out by accepting money orders. If you're interested PM me and we can discuss other options.

i can certainly vouch for the beautiful tone and playability of this bass, i'm it's original owner. i did the defret job on this myself, followed by a professional setup, and this is one killer fretless. i've entertained the notion of buying it back every time it's come up for sale here on TB, but realistically (and sadly) i just can't handle 6 strings.

it's been a year since i sold this bass and there's not been a day i haven't missed it :bawl: i want it back even now and might end up buying it (don't tell the wife), but will give someone else a shot at it first.

the lines on the rosewood board are varathane wood-filler (mahogany, to match the body). varathane was chosen because of it's ability to conform precisely to the surface it's applied to, and also because of its lasting durability. the bass was defretted when it was brand new (a little over a year ago), and the rosewood board showed virtually no chipping of any kind when the frets came out - the lines appear to be almost perfect as though they were put in at the factory. i attribute this to the quality of the rosewood mostly (but also to my patience in pulling the frets, it took several days to get them out and i was a nervous wreck the whole time). from the appearance of the bass in these photos, it's been very well cared for since i last played it.

the fretless sound on this bass is simply amazing, luscious mwah on every string all the way from one end to the other. it will make someone a very happy fretless player!

good luck with your sale. i'll have to measure my hands and see if they've grown any... :D

You did a great job defretting it. The fretboard is as smooth as if were made like that. Actually on stage I don't think you could see the lines from the audience since they're so dark. In a dark room it looks almost unlined unless you're playing it.

I'll also consider these trades:

Pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups

Fender MIJ Jazz with the Seymour Duncan Bass Lines

Got some more pics. There's a small chip in the head stock. Nothing major. Looks a lot worse in the picture than it really is.

I have the money and I've always wanted this bass in a fretless but I don't think I can justify it right now.

Being poor sucks doesn't it? So many basses, so little cash.

Didn't get her liquored up enough, huh?

No, the first mention of another bass made her sober right up. I got the whole "didn't you just get another bass earlier this year?...". At that point, it's a lost cause.

Women!:spit: They'll never understand, unless of course they're a bass player too.
