I've been looking into building a Warmoth/USACG bass for a couple of weeks now.
I figure I can paint the body and put the neck on [I've taken off necks many times while traveling], but beyond that, I think I'll need some help.
Ideally, I'd like to have a guitar tech allow me to watch this process so I'll know how to do it in the future w/out any help.
What do you guys think most people will charge for this service, and what are the chances of someone teaching me the basics?

if you are in the north Seattle area and are willing to stretch it out over a couple sessions I'd be happy to step you through the process.
stretching it out is not because it's going to take endless days to do, but more because my house is on the market and there is endless interruptions with buyers coming thru with their agents
all the best,
R

Thank you very much for the kind offer, but I'm in Florida.
Do you have a preference in necks and bodies [USACG / Warmoth / _______ ] ?

St. Petersburg.
I haven't even been to a guitar shop down here yet. I don't think I want to either until I order my parts bass [I just know I'll be talked into buying new bass and my custom parts bass dream will be put on hold].

Yeah, that is kind of a long haul. What would a guy like you charge to put a parts bass together [ballpark figure]? How long would it take?

Since my former boss at the camera repair shop I worked at for 19 years forced me to go full time bass building I have been swamped with basses. With Christmas coming up I am not sure how soon I could get to it. Try and give me as much detail as you can as to what you are buying and what you would like me to do for you....Tom
