so I recognize some of the stuff in this video, but I need to know if he is playing one of his songs at about 2:11 to 2:23 because that's really pretty, and I'd love to learn it.

PS: how does he slide that natural harmonic? or is it just a false one?

thanks! :D

it sounds a little like part of the intro to Amazing Grace off of the "Live Art" album

As far as sliding a natural harmonic, you would slide it just like an artificial one

more in depth answer on the sliding a natural harmonic. you sound the harmonic then push down to the fret and then slide it.

And this works? Everytime I press down on the fret then slide it gives me the actual note sliding, not the harmonic..

you're pushing down too hard/fast and hammering on the note.

hendrix has done this technique on guitar it's where I initially learned it.

it takes a little finesse and practice but after you've got it down you can do it without thinking.

It's not really song, just some harmonic play. He does it in his version of Amazing Grace, but he's just taking bass notes (3, 5, 7, 9 on E and A) and combining them with harmonics either two frets up or down, on the upper strings. And that sliding harmonic he does is just ridiculous. Sliding the harmonic when your hand is in that position is just...well, I have no idea.

I got it. I wasn't doing it right, very cool! thanks!

For some reason, I have an easier time doing it with flatwounds. Dunno why.
