Hey guys. I put this in the db forum, but I thought I'd put it here cause its not a legit upright bass, and I dont know how busy that forum is anyway. But anyways..

My Messenger is not getting enough play for me to keep it, so I'm thinking about selling it. It is the deluxe model with the hollow body and barbera active electronics. I need to find all the paperwork on it, I know I still have it. Its the 41" scale, tobacco sunburst. And it comes with the tripod stand and bag for that. The bass has the cordura softcase. There are a few minor scratchs on the back of the bass, at the top of the body, and one on the headstock by the A string tuner. But they are all pretty small.

Its number 126, and the date is 12/16/01.

Asking 2400 obo.

I also dont want to ship, but I will drive a couple hours to meet someone, I live in Redding Ca. So I can drive halfway somewhere to meet someone. Maybe as far as Sacramento. Or North to Ashland Oregon.

A few offers on this, but nothing yet. And I'm not really into any trades, I want to buy an acoustic upright after this. I'll try and get some pics up soon, its a pretty beautiful instrument.

bump for a great bass, i just sold my lefty a few months ago, very hard to let go!!! i just didn't have the time to practice it.

You might want to contact John Knutson and see if he'll buy it back. I don't think he'll give you quite what you're asking but it's worth investigating. I took my Messenger in to John for repairs a few years ago and he bought it on the spot. I wasn't really using it and he wanted a DLX around the shop to show to customers.

+1 on John! He's a great guy! I was the second owner on mine and he helped out a lot!
