Fender American Vintage '75 Reissue Jazz Bass SOLD

I just bought this bass a week ago BRAND NEW from Cobbster here on TB and have decided not to keep it. I'm selling it for the same price I bought it at. Basically, I bought this bass on a whim. I had never tried out the bass. I do this fairly regularly. Sometimes they end up being what I hoped for, sometimes they don't. Unfortunately, for me, this one just isn't my cup 'o tea. Basically, I've decided that I prefer the tone of an alder bodied, 60s style Jazz rather than this ash bodied, 70s style bass. So, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the bass. I'm just very picky about tone and this wasn't what I was looking for.

The looks, feel, and playability of this bass are second to none. I've never played a better feeling Jazz. Setup was spot on when I received it with nice low action.

The bass is in excellent condition. It has some light "swirling" on the black pickguard. That's unavoidable. It happens within minutes of picking the bass up for the first time. Other than that, the bass is perfect. No nicks, no scratches. You'll never find one in a music store that's in better condition than this. I swear, I've probably only played this bass a total of 3-4 hours.

This bass comes with everything you'd find with a brand new Fender: Hardshell vintage case (mint condition), hang tags, bumper sticker, cord, strap, wrenches, pickup cover, bridge cover, owner's manual, and cleaning kit.

I won't bore you with the specs. You can check them out yourself at http://www.fender.com/products//view_specs.php?full_partno=0190300&name=American+Vintage+%9175+Jazz+Bass%26reg%3B

I will mention one thing. I only mention it because I want to be completely honest. I briefly put an Audere JZ3 preamp in this bass just to see how it would affect the tone. When I did, I had to shorten the pickup wires. The bass sounded killer with the Audere and it added a great deal of versatility but it still wasn't what I was looking for. I returned the bass back completely to stock. When I did I had to add the wire back in order to hook the pickups back up.

By the way, if you're interested in buying the Audere preamp, I'd sell it to you with this bass for an additional $100 over the purchase price of the bass. It has volume, blend/midrange, and bass/treble boost/cut controls. Check out all the info on the Audere at http://www.audereaudio.com/JZ3.htm
For now, the Audere is only available with the purchase of this bass.

This is really a great deal. On most other spots online this thing costs $1430!

You can run trades by me but I'll warn you that I'm pretty picky and will probably have no interest in most trades.

Off the top of my head I might be interested in an American Jazz, Modulus VJ, or Zon Sonus.

Please, only offer trades of comparable worth. :)

Note that I do have this bass on ebay as well. If it sells here first, then I'll pull the ebay auction.

I'm unavailable Mon. afternoon-Tues. afternoon and from Thurs. afternoon-Fri. afternoon due to my work schedule. Be patient! I will reply to all questions!

Shipping to Continental US only! NO EXCEPTIONS!

Ships insured.

I accept paypal or USPS money order only.
