Hi Pete and welcome.

I've played lead all my life but have been a closet bassist.
Now due to supply & demand I play bass in a rock band, and church, and loving it!

However, the lead guitarist was a bit downcast the other day when he came in to our practice room while I was thrashing out The Sabre Dance (Dave Edmonds version) on my six string, through a Roland 30w cube into my 300w bass stack. It sounded absolutely amazing & I was "In the zone", until I blew one of the speakers. That'll teach me to be such a show off!

I'll try to keep this long story short...

I've been a bass player since I got serious about music 16 years ago. When I went away to college my guitar playing buddy found a new bass player, who became one of our best friends. 10 or so years later they decide they want to add a guitar player to their 3 piece. Enter....me? So I joined up as a guitar player.

We have the opposite problem of a lot of bands - rather than 3 guitar players with the least talented being forced into bass we have 2 bass players one forced into playing guitar (I like it, but I like bass much better ;)). We're all great friends and we have ton's of fun.

I have however recently joined a second band where I can be the one and only bass player.

Pssshhhht... whatev.... Truth is, JeffreyG can smoke circles around my behind, but in true bass player fashion, he chooses not to.
